The Problem with Problem-Solving
When you are ‘problem solving’, you are resolving ‘psychological tension’ so reacting, rather than creating.
Psychological tension is your thoughts and feelings about a certain person, situation or event, that is troubling you.
Resolving psychological tension limits what you can create and any action you take is in reaction and doomed to fail.
Whatever messages you give the subconscious will serve to resolve the tension , for example whether you think/say: “I can……” or “I can’t……” the subconscious will say ‘yes’ and create it - always, every time.
If who you are and what you do is a result of your circumstances, you will have a ‘problem-solving’ orientation. In other words, you will be in reaction and therefore, resolving tension. This may help you to feel better temporarily, but won’t do anything to solve the problem even if you are wanting solutions.
Problem-solving is a reactive orientation. Any action you take when you’re in reaction, we lead you around in circles.
Let me explain - If you have a problem, you take action, then the problem goes away. Once the problem has (temporarily) gone away, you stop the action, so the problem returns and you take more action, etc. etc. The cycle repeats itself.
To establish what you want in terms of a ‘true end result’ write down your ‘problem’. What you really want will become clear.
Remember to ‘do nothing’ about psychological tension. Shift your focus on ‘what you want’. Choose this ‘end result’ and take the right action that will lead you from ‘where you are’ to ‘where you want to be’.
In this way, you will be operating from a creative orientation - acting on ‘truth’ rather than ‘illusion’.
Practice this on a daily basis and any attitudes or behaviours that don’t serve you, will drop away.
Happy creating!
