I have just finished reading a book by Spencer Sherman: “The Cure for Money Madness”. You can read a book review to find out more or listen to a teleseminar if you’re interested. I found it excellent material, for getting clear about old money habits that get in the way of creating what you want. I found the exercises very confronting but revealing. “You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge” Dr Phil McGraw. The first step, is being aware of what’s going on so we are not just in ‘automatic pilot’ with regard to money decisions and transactions. I like the way Spencer suggests ‘taking a money breath’ before we act, to prevent reacting from an emotional base. I have certainly benefited from this read so it may help you as well - check it out! Weight on Weight off
Over the years - friends, family and clients (as well as ‘yours truly’) have said they want to lose weight. People come up with a numerical figure that they want to lose and then do whatever they think will achieve this. Of course I have noticed over the years, that these same people (including myself) may have actually achieved this but have since put it back on - the reason? It’s a negative vision. Whenever we are trying to avoid, prevent or get away from something, this attention and energy just creates more of what we don’t want rather than what we do want. Whether you are ‘losing weight’ or ‘gaining weight’ the subconscious mind gets the message that “it’s about weight” and presto - this is what you get! It may work for a while but will always swing back as you are operating in an ‘oscillating structure’ caused by a ‘negative vision’. It feels like you’re on a ‘band-wagon’ - going up and down, from one to another where sometimes it works and then sometimes it doesn’t work - hit and miss. To get off the ‘band-wagon’, make a fundamental choice to be healthy then identify some concrete, objective, measurable ‘end results’ that will indicate what’s healthy for you (including the weight you are going for). Write this down and it will become obvious to you, what you need to do. Also write exactly ‘where you are’ in relation to what you want (current reality) which will ensure you are operating in a ‘creative structure’, then focus on what you want and go for it! Remember, there are NO EXCUSES - just do it - it works! (Apply this approach to ‘quitting smoking’ as well).

To complete - is to close a door, finish a chapter or tie up loose ends and say ‘farewell’. To complete - is to experience a sense of satisfaction and achievement, to put any ‘failures’ or disappointments to rest and celebrate - moving on. To complete - is to go forward with purpose and anticipation, thankful of the past and hopeful for the future. When one is complete - all things are made clear, energy is renewed, a new path is created. It is then one is free to experience the contentment of the present due to the task of completion.
To read more about the importance of completion, go to ‘tips’ and request this topic via the form at the bottom of the page.

That’s right - there are 3 main choices:
1. Fundamental choices - these are linked to our values and philosophy, for example: choosing to be ‘professional’. To me this means, having the ability to focus on ‘end results’ and not making it about anything else.
Other examples of ‘fundamental choices’ are:
choosing to be healthy (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually)
choosing to take responsibility for oneself
choosing to be free (physically & psychologically)
choosing to be true to oneself
2. Primary choices - choosing ‘end results’ and to do this, we need to know what we want. These choices become obvious once we have made a ‘fundamental choice’
3. Secondary choices - these are the ‘functional steps’ that support the ‘primary choices’.
Apply to the example of health:
I choose to be healthy (fundamental choice)
What food and exercise etc. support me in being healthy? (primary choices)
Take action by living according to this lifestyle which supports what I want (secondary choices).
Apply this to something you want and let me know how it works for you.

If I had a dollar for every occasion a client gave the excuse of ‘not having enough time’, I would be a millionaire by now!
The truth is, we all have the same amount of time - it’s a matter of how we choose to use our time, that makes the difference. What we value most will occupy our time, in the same way we spend our money. If we believe we don’t have enough time, then we won’t. Instead, if we focus our attention, energy & resources on what we want, we’ll create it somehow.
Request my article on Time Freedom & Fat Free Performance (bottom of the Tips page), which uses the principles laid out in Tim Ferris’ book: “The 4-hour Work-Week” and complete the exercises. Let me know what you discover!

Acceptance doesn’t have to mean resignation. Acceptance is having an understanding that the world is not for us to control. Acceptance is simply, a choice - to control one’s own responses to events outside of one’s control. Acceptance brings strength and energy, to create a new life.
Tolerance of others and the world around us, comes from tolerance of self. When you are content and at peace with yourself - you are at peace with the world. Tolerance is choosing what you pay attention to and how you want to respond, that is true to yourself.
What is your experience of acceptance & tolerance?

When you ‘find your flow’, you are totally involved in a particular activity that requires you becoming the activity - no separation. When you are fulfilling your unique purpose, you experience a sense of ‘flow’ as this is your ‘path of least resistance’. If you want to know more about discovering your unique purpose, request the article at the bottom of the Tips page: “knowing your unique purpose to create your true vocation”. There are some exercises that may help.
More on ‘flow’: being ‘in flow’ is when you are focused, concentrating on the task or activity and doing it for it’s own sake - just because you love it! You experience ecstasy, serenity, intrinsic motivation and inner-clarity, where your skills match the task. It is having a sense of timelessness, forgetting your self and feeling part of something larger.
What energises us when we are ‘in flow’? It’s our passion and instincts.
What’s your experience of ‘finding your unique purpose’ or ‘being in flow’?

I hear people say, they have difficulty trusting others. You can only trust others once you trust yourself. “Aahh” I hear you say “THIS is what’s difficult”. Trusting yourself involves knowing ‘who you are and what you want’. When you ‘hold on to yourself’ you can confidently go into the world and not lose yourself to someone or something else. It’s tuning-in to your own inner-wisdom / intuition and trusting what your ‘gut’ tells you - it’s there to serve you and will never let you down. Let this be your guide in trusting others and the world around you.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts or experience of ‘trust’.

You hear people say “you can’t change the past” - that may be true, but you can change the way you perceive the past. “It’s your story that keeps you where you are” so if you change your story, doesn’t this change the way you see the past? If you change your story of the past to one that’s based on the benefit of hindsight (viewing it from an objective perspective based on who you are now rather than the person you used to be), doesn’t this free you up to respond to your past in a way that serves you now and in the future, rather than keeping you where you’ve been? What do YOU think? Fill in my tips request form for some tips (Choose topics: “Building a new future” and “Oh to be Free”. It’s great to get to a point where ‘the past ceases to exist’ and you experience true freedom. To my surprise, I have come to experience this recently. What’s your experience?
